Where and when do you meet?
We meet every two weeks on a Wednesday evening in the Orton Waterville Village Hall, Peterborough, PE2 5EN from 7pm to 9pm with coffee, tea and biscuits available in the break.
Do you publish a programme?
Yes we do. We notify all members via email and our Facebook page. We also have a web site peterboroughcitycameraclub.co.uk, which is open to everyone.
Is there a subscription to pay?
There is an annual membership fee which is currently £40 for the year January to December and a subscription of £4.00 per meeting (excludes field trips). You only pay for the meetings you
attend.
Is there a minimum age limit?
Yes, all members must be 18 or over.
What if I don’t know if I want to join?
We offer and encourage prospective members to come along for two free ‘taster’ sessions where you can chat to members and see what we do.
Do I need to have lots of camera equipment?
You only need a digital camera and this can be a compact, bridge, DSLR or mirrorless.
Do you cater for novices as well as experienced photographers?
We offer a wide range of activities which include guest speakers on numerous aspects of photography, internal club competitions, external competitions, practical sessions, local field trips and support and guidance. Our members have wide ranging interests and capabilities with one thing in common, a passion for photography.
Is it compulsory to enter the competitions?
No it isn’t. Members are very welcome to attend competition evenings whether they have entered or not. It is a time to see what other members take pictures of, how they interpreted the competition theme, talk about the varied entries and see how judging works. There is always an Open Print section where members can enter a picture on any subject. It is a sociable evening with time to talk to other members.
Can I bring a friend with me to my first meeting?
Yes, we are proud that we are a friendly club and you and your friend would be made welcome.
Do I need to attend all the meetings?
No, we look forward to seeing you when you can join us.
What should I do next?
Come along to a couple of meetings and then speak to one of the committee members who will talk you through the joining process, which isn’t complicated.
